We just returned recently from 10 days around Iceland. We knew we wanted a car that could handle some of the F-Roads if needed and to get us safely around the country. After lots of research and debate we ended up renting a Dacia Duster from this company. We are so glad we did. Can I drive in the Highlands in an economy car?
No, this isn’t possible. Economy cars are two-wheel drive vehicles and are not suitable for the Highlands. Only 4x4 vehicles are allowed on Highland roads. Please take a look at our 4x4 cars category for suitable F-road cars.
What sort of tyres do economy cars have?
Economy cars come equipped with winter tyres from November to April and summer tyres for the rest of the year.
Are economy cars safe for Iceland travel?
